Midlothian Fence Permits

This rural DFW community caps fencing at 8 feet, 3 inches, except for in front yards, where the cap is 4 feet. You’ll need a permit to build fencing. The application costs $50.

Midlothian has many restrictions, including those on plank thickness, post positioning and depth, clear visibility triangle, no electric fences, and no easement fences.

It also requires fence pickets to be either spruce or cedar; pine is not allowed. You can use brick, stone and reinforced concrete as long as it looks like masonry.

Additionally, masonry columns can be no taller than 9 feet.
