Grand Prairie Fence Permits
This DFW mid-city suburb requires a permit for new fencing, costing residents $25 to file.
The maximum fence height in the city is 8 feet for side and back fences. Front-yard fences are capped at 3 feet, or 4 feet if the fence is at least 50 percent transparent (wrought iron, chain link, rail, picket).

Project You’re Really Proud Of? My favorite project has been a board on board style wooden fence. This has been the prettiest fence I’ve installed to date. Challenges included welding the iron posts to concrete curbing, clearing several major trees and dealing with the tree company, working on the edge of the gully and clearing it out, and convincing the client the red stain would complement her pale green house better than medium brown. In the end she was ecstatic with her fence and she remains a friend socially, even dining out with my family and I on occasion. It was a wonderful experience all the way around.

Not good, not good at all

Called twice and was told the lady that scheduled appointments had left and forwarded me to voicemail. No return call twice. Third time finally got an appointment scheduled but the lady was gone again so the office manager helped me. The person that came out said I need to replace the entire gate arm when you can hear a gear just grinding. 800$ for a new arm. And they wanted 92 for a 7 minute diagnoses saying a new arm. I wonder if they sent a sales person instead of a repair person. I opened up discovered the problem and replaced the part for 150$ and works great. They may do good gates and fences but don’t call if you need repair.

Thank you for your comments. We understand, however, as an authorized installer of the manufacturer, that the actuator arm on your operator is non-repairable, as recommended by LiftMaster. There are no serviceable parts inside the actuator arm. As per manufacturer standards, the LA 412 actuator arm has to be replaced when broken.
